JD graduated from Smith School for Social Work which has been recognized for its dedication to the specialization in clinical social work as well as it’s commitment to anti-racism. She prides herself on being a culturally competent clinician who has been providing treatment to adults and children for over 25 years. Her lived experience has informed her professional practice. She understands the impact of historical trauma and the importance of racial identity development.
She is experienced at conducting psychotherapy using treatment modalities based in various theoretical orientations with a diverse population of clients. She is an empathic, critical thinker who believes in the strength of the therapeutic alliance and how it can be a corrective experience for the client.
